VIRGINIA
Virginia is
the most extensive worldwide variety and corresponds to consumer evolution
towards so-called American-blend smoking products. In France, it represents
50 % of the total production of leaf tobacco.
Cured in ovens, Virginia requires an elaborate technique and is suited
to plantations of larger surface areas where seasonal labour is required.
The distinctive style of the French production is its neutral and
light character, much sought after by industrialists.
