The tobacco processing plant in Sarlat

The France-Tabac plant in Sarlat, Dordogne, was founded in 1985 and is owned by the UCAPT, that is to say 7 French tobacco cooperatives.

The site is intended for the processing of light-air & flue-cured tobaccos so as to produce uniform blends, marketed to end-product manufacturers (cigarettes, rolling tobacco, cigars etc.) for the French and export markets.

The plant has a capacity of 20,000 tonnes per year and employs from 120 to 170 staff, depending on the processing period.

This unit has enabled France-Tabac to be in direct contact with the major manufacturing industries supplied in Sarlat: ALTADIS, BRITISH AMERICAN TOBACCO, GALLAHER, IMPERIAL TOBACCO, JTI S.A., PHILIP MORRIS, etc... Several dozen other large customers are supplied throughout the world.
