The
processing plant in Sarlat, Dordogne, was founded in 1985 and is
owned by the France Tabac
U.S.C.A., that is to say 7 French tobacco cooperatives.
The site is intended for the processing of light-air & flue-cured
tobaccos so as to produce uniform blends, marketed to end-product
manufacturers (cigarettes, rolling tobacco, cigars etc.) for the
French and export markets.
The plant has a capacity of 20,000 tonnes per year and employs from
120 to 170 staff, depending on the processing period.
This unit has enabled France Tabac to be in direct contact with
the major manufacturing industries supplied in Sarlat.
